Children's Church Treasure Chest, Issue #005 -- Quick Announcement June 28, 2008 |
I have been thrilled for the past year and a half to provide to you dozens of pages of free content to help you with your children's church ministry. This would not have been possible without SBI!. I want to take a moment to share with you how SBI! has changed my life, offered me opportunity, and impacted my ministry and yours. June 28, 2008Issue #5 Table of Contents: 1. How My Site Began 2. Special Offer from SBI! 3. Surprise Announcement! 4. Prayer Request
How My Site BeganMany of you have read my testimony on the About Us page of my website. If you have, then you are aware of my burden to provide free resources to children's ministry workers all over the world. I became very frustrated (and still do!) trying to find good quality children's church lessons, games, and ideas on the internet. Just this morning I was searching for a game to go with a particular lesson theme, and almost every type of "children's church" or "children's ministry" search I did led to some type of sales page! Now believe me, my children's ministry wish list is a mile long; but there's no way I can afford all of the wonderful children's church resources that are out there! I have always wished for a great source of every type of children's ministry material that I need... for free! Ideas, lessons, encouragement and more. I never found what I was looking forward, so long story short ~ I decided to provide it myself! I am a loooonnnnng way from having everything up on the site that I intend, but I'm sure that many of my readers will testify that I've come an awful long way! I have ideas spilling out of my mind on a daily basis; and now that my baby isn't nursing round the clock, I am finding little snippets of time to actually implement many of my ideas on my site and in my e-book. More about that in a moment! I never even thought it possible that *I* would have the skill to build a website. Don't get me wrong ~ it was definitely a long term goal and desire of mine. But I was thinking more along the lines of when the kids are grown (I have four under the age of six!), when we are financially stable, etc. then I'd have the money, time, and resources to take a course and learn about web design. Imagine my surprise when I stumbled across the BEAUTIFUL website of a stay-at-home-mom like myself who, thanks to SBI!, was building a helpful site and making money in her sleep! I researched further, prayed a lot, and discussed it with my husband before deciding that SBI! was worth the investment. And boy, was it! My goal with my children's ministry website was never to make money, only to help others in their ministries. However, just from the few little Google search bars and affiliate ads that I have spread around my pages, I think that my site will way pay for itself before my renewal in October. I was just thinking that some of you would be interested in taking your ministry to a worldwide level like I have. I have readers in countries all over the world and hundreds of people contacting me through my site for help with their ministries. My site is in the top 2 million traffic-wise of all websites on the web... and there are over 100 million websites! Perhaps you do need a source of income so that you can immerse yourself more fully in ministry without worrying about being tied down to a secular job. I can certainly understand that! As a matter of fact, when I get my children's ministry site to the point that I desire, I plan to start another just for income. And I KNOW I can do it! Either way, please allow me to introduce you to SBI! Special Offer From SBI!![]() Surprise Announcement!I introduced this new resource in last month's newsletter, but I wanted to mention it again in case some of you missed it.For quite some time now, I have been brainstorming and working on a resource that will help children's ministry workers in a tremendous way. By building the site and hearing from all of you wonderful servants of God, I realize that so many have not had the excellent opportunities with which I've been blessed to learn about doing children's ministries. I've been striving this past year and a half to share my knowledge and experience with you all, but now I'm working on something that I feel will be more beneficial than ever... I am about to launch Volume One of "Four Weeks of Children's Church," an all inclusive e-book with every single detail that you would need to conduct children's church for an entire month, from the schedule to the detailed game instructions to the whole entire lesson completely outlined for you. We are talking seriously WAY more detail than anything that is currently on the website. I have devoted literally hours to this project, trying to remember that average workers do not have the background and closet full of materials that I personally have access to. I am very excited about launching the finished product and hope to have it available in the next week or so. I am just wrapping up some of the technical aspects of publishing an e-book and waiting on my final cover design. Prayer RequestIf you have spent any length of time browsing my website, you have probably heard of Ed Dunlop. He is an awesome children's minister who has published many tremendous resources ~ I highly recommend them all! Particularly if you are more technologically advanced than me and actually use PowerPoint or similar (hmmm, let's add another prayer request ~ Kristin needs a laptop and projector!), you should check out his resources!
Anyway, back to the point ~ Bro. Dunlop's wife has been diagnosed with breast cancer; so please be in much prayer for them and their family. I hope you gleaned some good ideas from this publication! You can find more helpful FREE info at www.childrens-church-ministry.com , as well as photographs and summaries of the weekly and quarterly activities in our personal ministry. If you like this newsletter, please do a friend and me a big favor and "pay it forward." If a friend DID forward this to you and if you like what you read, please subscribe by clicking here. Comments? Ideas? Feedback? I'd love to hear from you. Just reply to this newsletter and tell me what you think! |
