Updates on Andrew Page 5
Tuesday, April 29
Andrea called this afternoon to get a phone number from me, and we just talked for a couple of minutes. Chris is planning to call Andrew tonight, but all of our lives have been busy lately. Andrea said that it is really "chaos" there with her trying to get their stuff unpacked and the house in order and getting the kids back into routine. Andrew is doing pretty well though. I could hear him "running his mouth" (!) in the background, so I told her he sounded like normal to me. She told him what I said, and he rolled his eyes. Yep, Andrew's about back to normal...
Thursday Night, May 1 -- Email from Andrew's Mom
I don't know if you have talked to Andrea lately, but Andrew called Tues. night and said that Andrea was having contractions again (that happened once when we were at the hospital). Some of their church ladies were there and a midwife had told one of them to give her wild yam and a dr. prescribed a med - breathene. Well, the contractions stopped - PTL. I just talked to Andrew and they're in SC, where they saw a midwife and Andrea got a clean bill of health. She told them, as had Stephanie's midwife, that most contractions like that are brought on by dehydration. Anyway, all's well now and Andrew is progressing nicely, too. To talk to him on the phone, you'd never guess he's been through so much lately.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANDREA!!!!(They have an anniversary coming up this week, too!)
Tuesday, May 6
Sorry I haven't updated ~ I've been on a "computer fast." (In other words, my house got way too messy and I had to quit goofing around online so I could clean it!)Andrew called Chris Saturday night, and he's sounding really good. He does tire out pretty fast, but he is doing well. Pray that they can continue to get settled in their new home and especially for Andrea and the pregnancy/baby. Also, all of you prayer warriors ~ I just learned that my beloved Granny has pancreatic cancer which has already spread to the intestine. Her name is Virginia Tracy, and her 90th birthday will be September 18 of this year. Please pray for her comfort and for her children as they travel to south Louisiana to be with her. She had 14 children, and 11 are still living. She's an awesome lady (and Granny), and I know she's looking forward to seeing the Lord before long. I hope that she has a comfortable journey.
Saturday, May 17 -- Note from Andrew's Mom
Andrew has hit a "bump"; he's in the hospital in GA. He's seemingly all right for now. The cardiologist came in and said he's in the beginning stages of heart failure; they're going to "fiddle" with his meds to try to deal with it. Basically, his heart is just too weak to pump off the fluid ; the dr. said this would happen from time to time over the next year and then, hopefully, his heart will be able to handle it. We've seen a lot of miracles just coming this far and we're believing God for more. They're thinking he may just be in for the weekend, mainly for "observation".
Tuesday, May 20 -- Note from Andrew's Mom
He got out of the hospital yesterday evening. I was just fixing tosend out an email. The ecogram they did showed a weak heart imagine that!). He said he feels pretty good; just weak and a little short of breath.
Sunday, June 15
We had the privilege of attending "Papa & Mama Stringer"'s church this evening as we were passing through on our way home from my grandmother's funeral in Louisiana. I also talked to Andrew briefly this afternoon as he gave me directions to the church. He is still weak, but doing a bit better. He preached for the first time (since the heart attack) this past Wednesday. They are also singing much more frequently, although he still hasn't quite attained his ridiculously humongous and impressive pre-heart attack range! :)And to answer the question that many have e-mailed me with lately... no baby yet!! They are set to go as soon as the newest Stringer is ready to make her appearance! Please pray ~ the official due date is next week! Continue to pray for the financial needs. I learned last week from Andrea that they are expected to pay the expenses from the first 2 hospitals, to the tune of almost $40,000. Also, their disability hasn't kicked in yet; so there's no income at this time. However, they are using and appreciating the love offerings that so many of you generously sent in. You may continue to do so as you wish. The "donate" button on this website is still active, or you can contact them directly at their Georgia address (at the bottom of this page).
Wednesday, July 2
Andrea had another OB appointment this morning. She is a week overdue, so the plan is to induce at 5:30 in the morning. She is really praying that her body will go into labor naturally today and that interventions will not be necessary. She has had lots of contractions, just not regularly yet. Her cervix has seen some progress, so let's pray that God will bring this baby forth TODAY!
And We Have a Baby!
I can't believe I got home last night and forgot to post this! Sorry ~ I was brain dead from lack of sleep! The newest Stringer arrived at 9:37 last night via C-section. We don't have a name yet, although it will most certainly start with an "A"! She was 5 pounds 10 ounces and 19.5 inches long. Pictures will come as soon as I get some!
