July 30, 2008 ~ Awesome Resource, Awesome Value
I'm not the biggest fan of reading blogs (not because there aren't any awesome ones, but because I don't have a lot of spare time). However, there are two blogs that I read on a daily basis; and they are both owned by Crystal Paine: Biblical Womanhood and Money Saving Mom.Crystal is a tremendous, godly young wife and mother to whom I find myself drawn because we are so similar. It was she who motivated me, through her e-Books and articles, to write and publish
Four Weeks of Children's Church.
I personally own every one of Crystal's e-Books, and I have saved enough money implementing her ideas to buy all of her books at least 50 more times ~ literally! I am saying all of this because Crystal has an INCREDIBLE deal going on right now that is just unbelievable. TODAY ONLY you can get an incredible e-Book package from MoneySavingMom.com ~ over $100 worth of money-saving e-Books, homemaking helps, and encouragement for only $5.97! I can't believe she's offering such a great price and I'd highly recommend you run over
here
and check it out. One thing that makes this deal so good is that this e-Book package includes the e-course "Supermarket Savings 101" ~ this course alone is worth much more than $5.97 and will teach you how to drastically reduce your grocery bill. If high fuel and food costs are discouraging you and leaving you strapped for cash, you definitely need to buy this e-course. You'll learn how to cut your grocery bill by up to 50% or more and have fun saving money at the same time! Please check out Money Saving Mom and read more about this huge sale! Hurry, though, the price goes up tomorrow ~ get this money-saving e-Book package at a ridiculously low price while you can!
July 28, 2008 ~ Vacation Bible School
This evening our church will kick off our annual Vacation Bible School at 6:00. We look forward to having child evangelist Jason Farley, his pony Pocket, and whatever other critters he brings along for our "Wild Wild West" theme. If you live in West Plains, be sure to drop in on the excitement!

July 15, 2008 ~ Yippee, we did it!
I actually got
my e-Book
launched this past Friday as promised! I was pushing it though... the day before the launch I went to bed at 7am and got up at 9am! Surprisingly, however, I still managed to stay up until midnight without feeling overwhelmingly tired ~ must have been adrenaline!I encourage you to check it out. I've already gotten a lot of great feedback from my readers. There truly is an exceptional amount of content in the book, in addition to a full four weeks of Bible lesson outlines, games, songs, memory verse activities... you name it. My children's church kids have really enjoyed being experimented on as I've tested all of the ideas I shared in the book! I don't know about you, but we've been in the "summer slump;" so we are just making the best of what we have! We are really looking forward to Vacation Bible School the week after next. Jason Farley is coming to assist us, along with his pony Pocket and who knows what other critters! Our theme is Wild Wild West, and we are using the
the coolest decorations.
We used this "scene setter" last year for Roundup Sunday. We couldn't have put $35 of decorating money to better use! If you have any VBS themes or ideas, I'd love to hear from you. I'd like to build a section of my website along those lines.
July 8, 2008 ~ Exciting News!!!!
Whoa, Nelly! I am excited as anything ~ my eBook is almost DONE!!! I am still shooting for my target launch of this Friday, July 11, although I still have a lot of technical kinks to work out. I appreciate and covet your prayers for me and this project. I will send all of my newsletter subscribers a message as soon as my sales page "goes live."In case I'm catching you by surprise and you didn't even know that I was working on an eBook (which is likely the case, if you aren't a newsletter subscriber)... I am! And it's almost done! Oops, did I already say that? :) The eBook is called "Four Weeks of Children's Church: Volume One." It contains EVERYTHING that any children's church ministry director would need to conduct children's church for a full month, regardless of the number of students or staff, the amount of money available, the experience of the teachers/director, or how long the children's church has been established. Anyone can do this ~ I have it all laid out detail by minute detail from the games and songs to the lesson and invitation (for both the saved and unsaved students in your ministry). Very thorough! Be sure to "swing by" here on Friday and check it out. If you're scared you'll forget...
just sign up for our free newsletter, and we'll send you a reminder!
June 28, 2008 ~ Neat Experience!
We went to Louisiana recently for my grandmother's funeral; and on the way back Sunday night, we stopped for the evening service at Maranatha Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, AR. A couple of hours later we were passing through Batesville, and I happened to look up long enough to notice a
West Coast Baptist College
van outside Mazzio's. I asked Chris if he'd seen it, and he confirmed that it was indeed a WCBC van. I asked him to go back because I'd been wanting to buy some of their CD's. He reluctantly turned around; but once we pulled up outside Mazzio's, he changed his mind and turned around. I begged him to let me go in, and he gave in! I went in and inquired... anyway, long story short... come to find out, they recently attended
S.M.I.T.E.
(
where I was trained in the children's ministry
) and know some people that I know! Now what are the odds that I'm going to pass through Arkansas and meet people from California who have common acquaintances with me (from Missouri) that live in Louisiana and Florida?! Anyway, we went to the parking lot, and I was able to get several CD's. Then they offered to sing for us! They sounded awesome and were super sweet! That was way too cool of an experience!
June 20,2008 ~ Special Prayer Request
I just had the pleasure of corresponding with Bro. Ed Dunlop, whose materials I promote on this website often. We model our entire children's church hour after his schedule and format. Anyway, I am so sorry to hear that his wife has breast cancer. Please keep the Dunlop family and ministry in your prayers. I also urge you to take a look at
his website.
He has written an incredible, action-packed allegory series called the Terrestria Chronicles. I am ordering the series today because (besides the fact that my boys will LOVE it) I think it will be an awesome way to get our children's church kids to be faithful all summer! I am going to read the books at the end of the children's church hour, making sure that I leave enough room in our schedule to do so. I'll leave off at a good cliffhanger point each Sunday, and I'm sure the kids will be dying to know what's next!
