Throughout the year you will want to plan special children's church promotions, campaigns, and big days: Round Up Sunday, Back To School Sunday, Fun in the Son Campaign, Christmas Party, Easter Sunday... the possibilities are endless! We try to have some type of promotion every month or so.
We have a least one campaign annually lasting four to six weeks. During our campaigns we focus on a specific push such as memorizing scripture, bringing visitors, or attending faithfully. We once even did an offering campaign the month before Missions Conference to raise money for a missionary. There is usually a large poster with everyone's progress, if the campaign is on an individual basis. In this case a nice prize is provided such as a bicycle or a stereo. Sometimes, however, it is Boys vs. Girls; and everyone on the winning team earns a nice prize or has the privilege of being served by the losing team at a huge party on the final day.
We also plan "big days" (a.k.a. parties) for all holidays or special occasions such as Pastor's 20th Anniversary at our church, etc. I will be adding ideas regularly, so stay tuned!
