It is understandable that you don't have a lot of time to devote to children's church record keeping; neither do we! We try to keep it as basic and simple as possible, especially since the Sunday School teachers and bus captains are required to keep more detailed records. The records do come in handy, however, for prayer and visitation purposes, as well as establishing rapport with the kids (by pointing out to them that you noticed they were absent last week, have a birthday coming up, etc.).
If you haven't been keeping any records up to this point, just start out by writing down all the kids' names this Sunday. Then as you have time, gradually add other information such as addresses, phone numbers, birthdays, parent contact info (for emergencies), bus captains, etc. It will help for you to have this basic info ready to transfer to the forms that we will provide...
