Empty! Jesus leaves the grave.

Construct a tomb out of cardboard appliance boxes, spray painting it to look like a tomb and, of course, a giant stone (round). We gather the children inside and discuss the Easter story in there. We then go outside and have a small egg hunt. The children pick out one green and go to that station that represents Palm sunday and put a piece of palm tree branch inside. It is something like resurrection eggs. Each color of egg represents something about the resurrection. Lastly, we have a Resurrection party with cupcakes, chips, juice box, etc. If we run out of time, they make a foam cross bookmark (filler time activity).

I loved your idea with the pinata. I'm doing it this year because I'm having problems with my tomb. Thanks! God bless you
