Football Frenzy!

by Sean Goss
(Kansas City, Mo)

This game was made up because of my love for football! The game is played on a flannel graph board, using a green background and white ribbon for the field lines (25 yard, 50 yard and 25 yard is all that is needed). Print off football helmets from various teams online to give the kids a selection to choose from. Using questions from your lesson (or lessons)use them as follows: 25 yard questions (easy), 50 yard questions (medium), field goal questions (hard), touchdown questions (hardest).
Only after answering two 25 yard questions or one 50 yard question can a field goal question be asked ( a touchdown question can be used at any time). To add a nice wrinkle, if a team answers incorrectly the opposing team can "intercept" it by answering it right. Thus getting the ball wherever they are on the field (or if it was a touchdown question, then they get the touchdown).
This is a fast paced game that ALL the kids enjoy! (I recommend letting the kids sound the air horn whenever they score!)
